แอมมิเตอร์เป็นอุปกรณ์ที่ใช้วัดกระแสไฟฟ้า ซึ่งดัดแปลงจากการนำความต้านทาน(ชันต์)ที่มีค่าน้อยๆมาต่อขนานกัลแกลแวน อมิเตอร์ เพื่อแบ่งกระแสไม่ให้ไหลผ่านแกลแวนอมิเตอร์มากเกินไป จนทำให้แกลแวนอมิเตอร์พังได้ เมื่อเราต้องการวัดกระแสที่มีค่ามากๆ
1.นำชันต์ต่อขนานกับแกลแวนอมิเตอร์
2.ชันต์ต้องมีค่าน้อยๆ เพื่อให้กระแสแยกไหลผ่านชันต์มากๆ เพื่อช่วยลดกระแสที่จะไหลผ่านแกลแวนอมิเตอร์
คุณสมบัติของแอมมิเตอร์ที่ดี
1.มีความแม่นยำสูง ซึ่งเกิดจากการนำชันต์ที่มีความต้านทานน้อยๆมาต่อเพื่อว่าเมื่อนำแอมมิเตอร์ ไปต่ออนุกรมในวงจรแล้ว จะไม่ทำให้ความต้านทานรวมของวงจรเปลี่ยนแปลง ทำให้กระแสที่วัดได้มีความแม่นยำสูงหรือมีความผิดพลาดจากการวัดน้อย
2.มีความไว(Sensitivity)สูง เมื่อชันต์มีค่าน้อยๆกระแสที่ไหลผ่านชันต์จะมีค่ามาก ทำให้กระแสที่ไหลผ่านแกลแวนอมิเตอร์มีค่าน้อย นั่นคือแอมมิเตอร์ที่ดีจะสามารถตรวจวัดค่ากระแสน้อยๆได้ กล่าวคือ แม้วงจรจะมีกระแสไหลเพียงเล็กน้อย แอมมิเตอร์ก็สามารถวัดค่าได้

Operating instruction:
- Connect the current loop lines.
- Connect the AC power supply to the red and black wires.
